Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has been giving back to key workers in Leeds by donating an afternoon tea experience to Oaklands Care Home near it’s St Oswald’s View development in Methley to thank them for their hard work and dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The five-star housebuilder worked with a local caterer to have an afternoon tea hamper delivered to the door of the care home contact-free, for 26 members of staff and residents to enjoy. Delivered as a well-deserved treat for the team and residents, the afternoon tea aimed to create an experience that alleviated some of the stresses experienced by everyone at the care home during lockdown. The hamper contained a mixture of classic sandwiches and sweet treats including scones, flapjack, cupcakes and chocolate brownie.
On the donation Gresh Hardowar, Manager at Oaklands Care Home said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has prevented our residents and in some cases our staff, from seeing their
families for a long time. The team at Oaklands Care Home has worked incredibly hard during the pandemic, and continue to do so, to keep our residents as safe and comfortable
We had a wonderful afternoon enjoying the afternoon tea from Barratt Developments! Our staff and residents were so thrilled to experience it and felt like they’d had an afternoon out after enjoying the delicious treats that were on offer.”
Gemma Rosindale, Sales Manager at St Oswald’s View commented: “We are so pleased that the staff and residents at Oaklands Care Home enjoyed the afternoon tea donation.
NHS and key workers in the UK have worked tirelessly to keep us all safe, and we are so pleased that we were able to create an experience that they could enjoy to thank them for
everything they have done!”
